After the stock has flowered on the Blc. Wanda's Fire, I believe that it will bloom no more??? Does the old stock start to change colour as it dies off? Mine is showing a redish colour on the old leaves. Is this a natural happening?
Most sympodial orchids - like catts - will only bloom once from each growth. After they are done blooming, they become the "storehouse" of energy and water fr the entire colony of plants, connected via a rhizome. As long as they remain green, they will continue to produce food and energy through photosynthesis.
A reddish color in the old leaves is often an indication that the plant is seeing a great deal of light - probably a bit more than it should. It's sort-of like a suntan.
