Is there a way?
Hello all,
A friend of mine gave me a keiki from his dendrobium. When I looked at the parent's height, wow, it was about 3 - 4 feet tall!
Since I have the keiki now, is there way to downsize it height when it starts to grow?

cutters will do the job well.
Sorry was just a joke. I think with pruning it, the plant will be unlikely able to flower. Thats my opinion and others might know better

genetics are what genetics are...if you're interested in smaller dendrobiums, maybe look into mini dens or compact dens.

I agree, it is what it is. There are some wonderful compact dens they may suit you're growing space abit more. I hope you give the other one more time, it just may grow on you

well if you try to stunt its growth, it will never be luxuriant or flower....so thats out, i am afraid you will have to live with the size of the plant, or give it away at some point...i agree with dana and gloria, check out the compact or mini dens...

Yes, I have just phals and a dendrobium keiki, a gift for me. I am living in Singapore, a tropical country. All of my orchids are at my apartment's balcony receiving just bright light without direct sunlight whole day round.
