I don't think mine need special care or other-than-normal fertilizer/water. I water all mine with RO water with MSU mix at 125ppm nitrogen every watering. Never skip a beat.

As Ross said....treat 'em just like the rest. I would, however, protect them a little more (than the others) from the cold. Sudden cold snaps can make some of the buds abort, otherwise known as "blasted buds". If you are not already feeding them some sort of "Blossom Booster", it wouldn't hurt to start.....but it's not a necessity.

just give em good basic care...i alternate a balanced fert formula with a bloom formula, it works for me....and dont forget to flush every 3-4 waterings...i try not to get the blossom wet when watering of course....seems like that helps the flowers last longer.

i'm pretty sure I have a blasted bud on my most recently purchased plant...I guess in this case there's nothing that can be done but watch it fall off?

I use Jack's Classic, I'm sure you can find it on line. Blossom Booster is a low nitrogen, high potassium and phosphate fertilizer, in this case 10-30-20. Very good for your winter feeding scedule.

Ty,

You're right about the bud.

Forget "Blossom Boosters", as there is nothing you can "Add" to a plant to make it bloom more. The best you can do is grow it to its maximum potential (with a good, steady supply of complete nutrition), and it will bloom to its max.

Plant Boosters

Hello Myst

I am in Orangeville Onatario. I buy my fertilizer at Plant Products in Brampton. It is for use with RO water. Only trouble is you have to buy lots of it..and I mean lots! We have enough to do us for years! Would gladly pass some on to you if you are close by.

Some orchids, esp. like some of the Stanhopea's will have their blooms last a lot longer is you can manage not to get them wet during watering.
Mostly, just continue good regular care and watering.
