Default Phal has arial root but no leaves

My plants are all outdoors in a screened patio. During the summer we had a lot of rain and I had a big problem with rot. I lost a couple and saved a lot but I have two that have all the leaves rotted off but each has one really strong arial root. Is there a chance for them? Should I repot and get the root in the pot? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd leave them alone, hold back some on the water and fertilizer and hope they produce some keikis. Phals without leaves are usually doomed, though if the crown is not destroyed they can sometimes start producing new leaves. Trying to report it now will only stress the plant more.
