I'm sorry to say but this is not a useful thing to do, I mean plants can't absorb sugar through there roots just like we cant's absorb it through our skin and as Ray has said it can even pull out water. There is chance that the sugar may be useful for mycorrhizas (fungi that lives in symbiosis with orchids) but I doubt it will really help the plant.
