Den. Nobile Spring Dream winter rest???

Does Dendrobium Nobile Spring Dream "Kumiko" need winter rest? If it does then how often should I water it?

I read somewhere that in the winter it needs a huge temperature drop between day and night temperature. Is that correct? Right now the dendrobium is on the kitchen window and I close the curtains for the night. It is getting a temp drop from 24C (75F) to 16C (60F). Is that sufficient?

hmmm well just a question i want to add... do we need a rest for certain species ( like no water at all ) if were living in the tropical countrY? coz i never give may orchids a VACA i always tell them to grow and bloom! LOL!
