Default info on burrageara red butter glenwood

I just received a burrageara red butter glenwood and can't locate a thing on the web. What are the growing requirements including repotting?

First off I would like to say to the board

I looked on Wikipedia and found that

" Burrageara, abbreviated in trade journals Burr, is an intergeneric hybrid between the orchid genera Cochlioda, Miltonia, Odontoglossum and Oncidium (Cda x Milt x Odm x Onc). "

So if you just follow the general advice in the
Oncidium/Odontoglossum Alliance section it should be a great start.

Default burrageara continued

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure where to go for "general information" on Cochlioda Miltonia Odontoglossum Oncidum. (which website?)

I did actually find "plant care" info for a Burrageara at a Smith and Hawkins site. My next question is "how do I know if I should repot?" I received it the first week of October from a local florist. Blooming ended last week.

I don't know much about your plant but if you look for info on Miltonia, Odontoglossum, and Oncidium then you should find the info

Burrageara Red Butter 'Glenwood' (as it should be labeled) is a fairly complex hybrid, but looking into the general care of the species in its background suggests that for best growth and blooming, it needs shaded, dappled light, prefers the intermediate-to-cool growing range (50°-65° at night, possibly a bit warmer) with a reasonably good humidity level, and should be in a moist, but open medium (not sopping, but not allowed to dry for any length of time, either).

As to when to repot, the general rule is to do so when the plant is beginning to form new growths, as that is when they will start new roots. However, if the current potting medium is too decomposed or compact, you might not want to wait.
