Default Stanhopea temperatures

I grow in Houston. Mainly outside. I am trying to figure out when I need to bring certain orchids in for the night. At what temperature should I bring a stanhopea in and what night time temperatures are ok to leave it out.

Thanks
Dawn

Bring it in when the night temperature gets below 50degrees.

You should pick up the book called "The Astonishing Stanhopeas" by Barney Greer. He goes over the cool vs. hot species and talks about their temperature tolerances. Its a really inexpenisve book and Im pretty sure Amazon has it or Orchids Books - Your place for Orchid Books, CDs & much more will have it for sure.

Welcome, and great question. I only have a few Stans, but I only live about 100 miles north of you so our weather is pretty similar. I'll be keeping an eye on the answers you get. This place is amazing, just wait and see. Good to have you here, neighbor.
