Vanda Crown rot
We have had incessant rain here for 2 or 3 weeks with only a brief respite for sunshine occasionally. It is the beginning of summer here, by the way....
I grow my Vandas outside and one of them has developed a yellow now "slimy" brown crown, which considering my research on the net seems to be crown rot. Any recommendations? By the way the plant has a great spike which should bloom any day now. The spike still looks great.
pictures would help, can't say for sure what i would do without seeing it. but if you cut the top off of a vanda, it will branch off from a lower node.
Whenever I see the start of crown rot, I dump in a few drops of hydrogen peroxide, let it sit for a few minutes then dump it out and sprinkle in some cinnamon. Make sure this plant's crown (and all others, actually) stays dry.
