My Phal. Salu Peoker is growing a ton of roots and I have it growing in medium orchid mix. Will this Phal. grow on bark? Do they like to be hung? I'm thinking the plant might look cool on a slab of some kind with the roots showing. Has anyone tried this, and if so, how was the outcome.
I think this might be an awesome way to grow this orchid.
Hi Faz,
You can grow most phalaenopsis on slabs, here at the greenhouse we have numberous phal hybrids mounted on cork bark with a little sphagnum moss inbetween. You will have to have adequate humidity to support the root system out in the open like that though. We also found mounting them upside down keeps the water out of their crowns to avoid crown rot. If you are growing them in the home watering can be difficult.
Happy Growing!

Thanks Lynn I will give it a try and do what you suggest as I am growing it in a home.
