Have just bought the above and wondered if anyone can give me some basic tips to get it blooming. The plant is standing about 2 feet or about 70cm high at the moment.

I have mine planted in good soil. I receives full sun all day long and I even put food pellets in the pot.
Remember that she likes to be the tallest thing around in order to bloom.
If you need any more help just let me know.

Thanks, mine is in a hanging basket so I think I will have to liquid feed. How often do they bloom and how long do the flowers last?

Mine bloomed twice already. Sometime in spring and September. The last blooms (which are dying off now) lasted over a month.

Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to seeing the blooms as I stayed at a hotel in Java that placed these blooms in vases everywhere and the effect was exotic and beautiful.
