HELP! My Phal is soooo sick!
Cool HELP! My Phal is soooo sick!

I acquired a Phal from work which was in a pretty bad way... however it had and still does 2 long stems and flowers (which are now starting to drop). Originally it had 4 leaves but these felt very splodgy and squishy.

ALL of her leaves have now dropped off although the stems are still hard and have flowers although a film seems to have covered the stems which you can rub off!!.

Please help!!!

Oh this doesn't sound good. Can you get us some clear photo's of the leaves and stems?
Are the roots squishy or firm?

Need pictures

Yes, pictures would be of great help. From your description the plant sounds like a goner, but if we can see what's going on, maybe we can offer you advice. A phal with no leaves may be salvagable.

Hello newphallover, well for the brief description given, I a m afraid you are dealing with crown rot, which is for phals, well very bad. however, there is a slight chance of bringing them back, please check the link below.

Example of Stem rot or Crown rot in Phalaenopsis

Now, the above is the best case scenario. You can give it a try, but don't worry, most of us started with a beloved phal that was overwatered to death, it happens to the best of us.

Either way, I hope it recover and I look forward to see the pics just to be sure.

best of luck!
