Default high phosphorous = grow new roots?

hi guys I have this itch again. I have bought 2 renanthera storei and one aerides. well its been 3 months and still i dont see any new root growth if there is... well just one inch!-(on my aerides) the renanthera well i dont see any roots yet just the old one still looking lifeless. ok... all these three looks stunted. well if ever the growth is soooo minimal. im pretty worried with the roots. i tried using root hormone still no dramatic effect. ive been using 20-20-20 fert. did some research then it sez higher phosphorous can initiate or stimulate new roots( i was so happy upon reading it), well to all of my mentors here! i just wanna ask if this statement is true. and is it okay to use a higher phosphorous (blooming formula) to initiate my orchids new roots! thanks again guys!

I don't know if it would hurt, other than the fact that too much fertilizer can burn plants, but if the plants are doing well, I wouldn't worry so much. Most orchids go through spurts of growth when they put out new roots and a lot of new growth and then periods of relatively little growth. I've noticed that our few Phals which have had little root growth for a number of months are suddenly putting out all kinds of new roots.
