Unhappy Culture requirements for Pleurothallis Grobyii

Someone please tell me how to get my grobyii to flower, or grow roots, or a new leaf anything!! I've had it for a year now and nothing. It just sits there, mocking me. I am ready to pitch it into the trash can. Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Not to worry...let's start with letting us know what your growing conditions are - is it outside, what kind of light is it getting, how often are you watering, feeding and misting it? Is it mounted or potted?

It would really help if you could post a picture of it

It is mounted on a piece of wood with a bit of spag on the roots. It gets watered about three times a week as it is small and will dry out quickly. The leaves are plump and green some with a reddish tinge to them. I occasionally feed with a bit of fertilizer in the water. It is in a south east window with a bit of shading for protection. My hoya has fifteen flower umbels in this same postion so I know the light is good. It is in my living conditions, pretty much intermediate. I will try to post a picture when I figure out how. Thank you for any help.

I too, am a grobyii newbie (say that three time fast). Mine isn't growing fast either, but I have noticed it perk up in my orchidarium. Low humidity was keeping it from doing much. Just a thought.

If the leaves have a redish purple tinge, then the light requirements are good. I mist mine daily (less when temps cool down) and it is in my vivarium sitting about 6 inches below my T5 lights...I would consider misting it more frequently and letting the spag moss stay slightly moist as opposed to letting it dry out completely.

According to orchidwiz this is what to provide for Pleurothallis Grobyi (does not have 2 i's)

Light 1200-2300 FC flitered or diffused light with strong air movment at all times.
Temp 86-89F days and 64-69F nights can be somewhat cooler than indicated.
Humidity 85-90% most of the year dropping to 75-80% in winter and early spring. Cultivated plants should be keeped moist when activly growing.
Fert 1/4-1/2 weekly balanced fert.
RestGrowing conditions should be maintained year round with slightly less feeding and water in winter.
Hope this helps and
Roland

magicatt,
you need to tell your mocking orchids that unless they start to perform, your going to replace them, or put them in the back of the room.

And just to keep you happy, check the link.
lol

Thank you for the orchid wiz info! At over 250$ I have put that on my x-mas list for santa!!
I have threatened worse than the back of the room and even waved chicken bones over it chanting bloom, bloom, grow. All to no avail. I am considering dismounting it and potting it instead. First, I am going to see if misting and dampness helps. (And maybe I'll try a turkey bone instead bwaa haa haa!)
