PESTICIDE FOR ORCHIDS!

OK im planning to get rid of the ants! i saw some of my houseplants were infected with aphids i think its normal for them lol! ive seen alot of them actually i just realize i dont want my orchids to be inhabited by these juice suckers! anyway! i bought Carbaryl (Sevin) anyone here using them to get rid of pest! im planning on putting a Tablespoon per gallon! what else uhmmm... is it safe will it kill my orchids? i have growing spikes in my orchids and other growing unmature canes of dendrobiums... anyway... ill be waiting for ur replies! thanks guys!

The rule of thumb that I've seen on this forum is that, as insecticides go, if it is safe for roses and other ornimental plants, then chids can handle it, too. I use either Bayer 3 - in - 1 Insecticide/fungicide or Ortho Orthenex. Both are available at any garden center or Big Box Store if you have them over there.
