well... i think ur friend would have a hard time bringing the plants well its strict and of course i hate to say this but airport in the philippines- the worst! and most unpleasant people ive encountered anyway enough of complains this is an orchid site! LOL!
Could just be me but it looks a lot like a stanhopea to me....it's not uncommon for stans to look "beat up" their leaves are pretty frail - if it is a stan, keep it in dappled light - no direct or even partial sun...keep it moist year round but cut back on the fertilizer in the winter months....
Well, I guess it looks like many different chids to many different people.....bottom line: we'll know what it is when it flowers, soon I hope and I trust you'll post a pic when it does!

Snails have been horrible here in Tampa Bay. We received well over 3 feet of rain this summer and they have been everywhere. I have been trying to get out there in the AM early to squish them, but they appear to really favor Phals more than anything else. I am hoping that the cooler weather will discourage them OR that I have crushed enough...they have also been chewing my Chiritas. I have so many cats and dogs that ramble thru my shadehouses I hate to use anything. Anything natural to help???? Greg in New Port Richey
