Phal leaves turning yellow...again
Default Phal leaves turning yellow...again

Hey all,

So my phal's leaves are yellowing again. I'm watering it once a week, I repotted it, it has been getting indirect sun and it's the bottom most leaf. The other leaves look ok, not wilted or anything. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Based on what you've said and if the roots are fine, it sounds like normal leaf drop. Phals will lose the bottom most leaf once in a while. Often there is a new leaf growing/will start to grow when that happens (at least in my experience). If there is no leaf growing yet, one will probably show up within a few weeks.

Do you have a picture just to be sure?

Your phal leaf is just yellowing with age. Nothing to worry about its just a cosmetic thing, the rest of the plant looks healthy. Keep it happy.

Yes, the plant looks fine overall. Phals will regularly lose a leaf, and typically do so either just before or when a new leaf beging to emerge. There's nothing to worry about here.

Does everyone have these leaves fall off just before or during the new growth, I have never noticed any leaves falling off my plants unless i break them off, some of my phals look like overweight vanda seedlings. Anybody else have funny looking phals like that.

Most of my phals will lose leaves all by themselves after they turn yellow, usually when there's new growth, but I do have one that is hanging on to it's leaves. It has 12 so far, while the others phals average 6-7.
Just curious, why would you break leaves off?
