Both my cats will chew the leaves on almost ANY orchid plant . . . except Phals. I have NO Idea why it leaves Phals. alone?

I have 3 dogs and one cat, and nobody chews on my chids. I guess they get sooooo many yummy treats, that they don't care about chewing on any 'veggies'

i wish my cat would stop chewing on the Phalalaenopsis and Cattleyas. I have to spank her every so often when she decides one of my plants looks like a snack. She will only eat Phalaenopsis and Cattleyas for some reason, I have never seen any holes on my other plants which are right next to them.

My problem isn't chewing it's lounging. They like the warm windowsill where the orchids spend the winter. They will squeeze in and push the pots on the floor.

I guess my solution is more orchids, if they can't get up there, they can't push them off. (addiction rationale at work).

My big monster Persian, Rem likes to sunbathe in the growroom especially if I'm in there watering. He has also knocked over a few pots if there is a visiting lizard. Nothing gets between Rem and a lizard!
He only chews on houseplants and thankfully leaves my chids alone.

We have a new kitten that has decided he prefers to be outdoors but does find it quite amusing to play shadow boxer with a few of the flower spikes....then I discovered why God made the SUPER SOAKER water cannon!!!!

I would love to water blast my ball of fur but she isnt afraid of the squirt bottle and i wouldn't want to be walking around the house with a water cannon, might hit an orchid and knock it over.

I can dream though!

I have 2 cats and they never mess with the plants (lucky for me). However I have 2 lovebirds that will eat them up! Especially phals. Look what they did to one I had sitting on top of the cage. In less than one day. Here is a couple pics of the rotten birds.
