Default naming orchids

Okay, I thought about this so much I've got myself confused...YES, again!

I won a L. sincorana x Lc. Irene Finney today. I found this cross on-line and it was called Pink Lady 'Hihihinu' and Pink Lady 'Misaki'. Does this mean that all of the offspring from this cross are called Pink Lady? My tag does not state any name.
Any clarification on naming convention would be wonderful!

Thx
Helen

Yes Helen, you are correct. All the plants from that cross will be a hybrid called Pink Lady. It's called the grex name. The 'Hihihinu' and the 'Misaki' are cultivar names that are used to differentiate between plants that are the same hybrid but with slightly different attributes. (ie, rounder petals, darker color, whatever)

Excellent, thank you!
I guess each cultivar would look different from each other, so mine will be a surprise?

Helen...yes, you are correct. They will look different as Terri pointed out, much like siblings in a family look different even though they have the same parents.

David, that's great! I really have something to look forward to now. They say that although this orchid is smaller it will have big blooms. Can't wait!
Thanks
Helen
