I have an iwanagara apple blossom that looks like this except there are two of the small growths that color, it has been like this for over a month. Is something wrong or am I just over zealous?

I agree, it's a sheath from where the bud will grow. You'll start noticing, not only the sheath swelling before the bud emerges but also the psbulb.
Very exciting, don't forget to post pics! Congratulations on your great growing.

Hi Rt,
Sometimes the sheaths will form several months before the plant actually blooms...it all depends on the blooming cycle of the plant to determine when the buds will actually form and grow inside the sheath. Do you remember when you Iwanagara Apple Bloosom bloomed last?

I have only had it since the beginning of summer, will be it's first time to bloom for me. I think maybe repotting to s/h right before the bloom sheath came gave it a shock. Another of the growths has formed a sheath and seems much thicker and healthier...
