Default I guess I am doing something right.

After finishing up with putting up the front shade panels on the shade house I thought it would be a good time to feed the chids and low and behold I have new growth on 23 of them and 7 maybe 8 are in spike . The ones in spike most have a while to go before flowers but some I need to identify so I will post pictures when they are open. I have one Dendrobium That is one of the most healthy plants I have ever seen (will post a pic tomorrow) I can't wait till it spikes and blooms since I do not have a name for it.

You're doing good, enjoy your happy post.

I have eight Orchids in flower with two more spikes.

I'm a happy old man enjoying my flowers.

Kona, I have been wonderin' does the wind there cause you any problems? I spend time sometimes in Waikiblowa south of you and the winds, while warm, can be drying, right?

Ross,
Here in Kona we have very little wind like Waikoblowa. So I have no problem with wind it is the sun that will dry things up quick smart. I am watering every 4-5 days with a Coir potting mix with the bark it was every 2 days. I am south of Waikoblowa (Waikoloa) on the North west slope of Hualalai above the Kona airport about 28 miles south of Waikoloa. I have a 8000 ft wind block.

I know that area! I have relatives that own at Hilton just south of the airport. Lots of plumeria plantations in your area? My in-laws are friends with the guy that ground brings in the plane from Maui (the airport service guy) can't remember his name, but he's a real kick! Might live near you up on the slope.

Hey Roland....congrats on all of your new growths and spikes! :Yup: And I agree, that dendrob sure does look healthy.

I am looking forward to pics of your blooms when they come around.
