The Latouria Dendrobiums don't need a rest so just keep giving it warmth, water and fertilizer.
The only ones that are getting a rest is the Pleione (it is already in the fridge) and the Cyncnoches, if the leaves ever drop. The Dendrobium aggregatum was getting a rest but then it decided to send out a bunch of new growth so I have resumed watering it. I have no idea what it is thinking.... ?
I don't know about your weather, but ours has been pretty weird; way warmer than is normal for this time of year. That may have something to do with it.
Usually during the winter the water should be reduced for a lot of orchids. In my collection the orchids that want a real rest are: clowesia dodsoniana, laelia tenebrosa, dendrobium delacourii, dend peguanum, dend thyrsiflorum , catt forbesii, laelia lucasiana, cymbidium. Hope this could help.
Hello I didn’t see my orchids on the above list but I think i need to “put to winter rest” my zygos? My ocidiums? I just repotted a zygo I had too she was busting out of her pot. I posted that under maxilla alliance. Can anyone guide me in the right direction? Thank you——-B
Hello, I’m confused. The orchids mentioned above are the orchids people have that get a “winter rest”? Is there perhaps a list of ALL orchids that should have a “winter rest”? I don’t see mine listed but I think I remember way back when that zygos need a winter rest? How about ocidiums do they need a winter rest? Can I find how to winter rest my orchids? Thank you——B
I have a miniature dendrobium nobile hybrid that is supposed to have a winter rest but I just got it and have been watering it regularly. It also has flowers on it. Is it too late to institute that rest?
