Is there a web site that I can look up to see when different orchids are supposed to bloom. I'm thinking I expect too much from my plants as I want them to bloom all the time. Still don't know if I need more light or I am impatient.
Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia will give you a basic idea of what season many species are supposed to bloom - however, I have several species that don't follow the schedule stated there.
When orchids fail to bloom, light is the first thing to re-evaluate. Depends what type you grow, but for the most part you can't go wrong going for as bright as possible without direct sunlight.
One thing you need to get used to... with your personal cultural regimen, your plants may not respond to normal blooming cycles. So, while a certain plant may bloom at a certain time in nature - this doesn't mean it will bloom for you at that same time.
