I think it is good advice to repot when the plant is growing, however I think that if a plant is in trouble, the roots ought to be looked at and it should be repotted right away regardless.

Azul is right, it isn't a mushroom, it's a toadstool, so don't put it in the stew for dinner, cos then we may never find out how your dens fared after your repotting.

I immediately rinsed it, soaked in Listerine, removed all dead roots and old medium, gave it a soak in sugar water with a weak mixture of blooming fertilizer (no growth hormone so I figured it may help) rinsed well and into a bag with rung out moss it went.

I don't know if she'll make it but I'm giving it my best try.

I realize now that I am over watering PLUS I have them on a covered screened porch N. facing, up against the screen for the best light.

Duh!!! :duh: they are also getting water when rain comes through the screening.

For years I've been into bonsai's and they thrive when moist, very few tree's need to dry out between watering and they love getting extra water from rain showers (just not sloppy wet) I used what I know on Orchids and paid the price. :dumb:

Great lesson learned!!!!

Now if I can only get through the entire growing medium, mounting vs potting, fertilizer, fungicide debates, I'll be all set!!! :)

your roots look like its pretty soaked up! have u just repot your dend? it looks like you need to give some root booster! i like it when my dends are root bound in the pot! i dont know i just feel dat it looks better if orchids are in root bound! and another one! your pot is too big dat could be one of the reason why.... if its just repotted try look for a smaller pot... if im in your shoe ill be watering it with 15 drops of root hormone. and after repotting spray it with fungicide - once a week give the treatment for 3 weeks...
