hi guys how will i know if this orchid is already dying and cannot be saved? i bought this renanthera and i told her to give me dat small keiki (renanthera) as well. No roots just the stem with leaves i think its a keiki. I tied it in a piece of wood and wrap it with coconut husk. here's my hint on this plant- it will turned yellow reaching from the top! so if this happens... throw it away or... are u going to wait for a magic root to pop out? sigh i really wanna save this guy! hes petite cute! LOL! and i think it just won as the best new orchid as of 2008 lol! anyway! anyone in pinas... well if it has a keiki ill be happy to share it with you! well within manila ok? LOL!

frostedeyes im 50/50 on this, im not sure how this orchid grows but its worth a shot to keep it. just place it in a more shaded area and moisten it every now and then. the yellowing of the leaves may be a sign of it trying to grow new roots, or if its dying you could tell by looking at the lower part of the plant, if its turning black then its a bad sign. goodluck!!
i think its ok if you have the accompanying certificates (Cites, phytosanitary..etc) from the growers, i think most growers would provide that as long as you ask for it, but i think we should ask sparkle orchids here since she's much more knowledgeable about orchids here in the Philippines.
oh am not sure... u know i live in the philippines and was planning to go to davao by airplane.. oh i dont know not sure if you need some permit to bring these orchids to manila city.
i remember when brought vandas to manila for my aunt, it didnt need any certificates, just mark it fragile and declare it as plants, but im not sure how the airport handles this now.
