Unhappy Overnight change- Mini Phal leaves wilting, thining and curling

Hi there,
I have a problem that has just appeared to me today. My mini phal now has wilted, very thin, discoloured and curling leaves.

It is potted in sphagnum moss (tightly) in a clear container. It was doing so fine.. so sad

Not sure if it should be repotted because there are flowers in existence on the plant. One of the many flowers have wilted as well.

Can anyone advise?

Hi , Sorry about the problem . It sounds like a root problem I would un pot it and see what is going on. I would remove the bloom spike . We need a little more info . on your growing conditions , how often it is watered, light and the temps . also where it is grown . Gin

I agree with Gin, it sounds like a root problems and need to know the conditions you're growing this in. You should cut the spike off to conserve it's energy and help start reversing these problems.

Also, the spagh. packed tight in the pot is probably aiding/causing root problems. The roots may have suffocated from this.

Default Thank you

Hi,

Thank you kindly for your advice regarding Orchid spike. The leaves have not further wilted. i repotted it. I found black spots on the roots and have removed the rotting parts. I placed the roots in some listerine and repotted it in some bark and styrofoam special for orchids. Hopefully this helps.. and now i cut off the spikes.. i's rather scary doing this work on orchids.. feels like i am performing human surgery. Apologies for the late response.. it's due to time difference. I am from Australia, Sydney.

PS. Conditions of phal living: The phal is kept indoors with good lighting but no direct sunlight. Humidity here at the moment is low.. but it is not cold.. Nothing has happened to my other phal (yet)
