Not difficult to treat. Take the plant out of the pot and remove all the medium it's in. You'll want to rinse the plant, washing away anything/everything that doesn't belong and make sure that any trapped water that get's into the crown is wiped away. If you've got Physan 20, put 1/4 tsp. in water and let the plant bathe in it for about 15 minutes. You can use an antibacterial liquid soap as well and if you do use this, be sure to rinse around the roots before placing the plant back in it's new, cleaned pot. I would also advise potting the medium up above the roots. Your plant should be fine.

Good luck!

P.S. One thing I forgot to mention since you now have discovered little buggies is, Neem Oil. It'll elminiate mealies, little spiders and other unmentionables. It saved a lot of plants in my collection.

Physan 20 is a mild, anti-fungal treatment. Anything similar should work fine. If you use an anti bacterial liquid soap (1/4 tspn), that should work as well. If you do use soap, just be sure to rinse the roots before potting it. Also, you should definitely use something such as Neem oil for the bug problems you reported. Let it work it's way into the medium without rinsing. Again, when potting the plant, be sure to cover those roots.

The tiny black insects could be fungus gnats or they could be plant lice. Neither are harmful to the plant. When you can't diagnose a problem, what I do is treat for both fungus and insects. If you have Ortho products in Italy, get Orthonex. It kills both fungus and insects. If not, spray your favorite fungus and insect solution. Do one and wait for about a week to do the other. If you don't like to use chemicals, cinnamon powder dusted on the problem will stop fungus or 3 % hydrogen peroxide used in first aid will kill both fungus and insects. Additionally, you can spray the plant with alcohol to kill insects. I apologize if I am telling you things you already know. Just trying to help. Good luck!
