I like the use of Vodka, 40% ethanol (at least the kind I can afford) and relatively free of other things. How do you use it on fungus and which fungus infections are you referring to?

Nick, for me, the biggest problems are white fungus/mold on mini mounts. I also get a reddish rust-like growth on a few. By using an eye dropper and a bunch of alcohol, I drizzle that on the surface of the mold/fungus and then use a brass bristled brush to scrape the surface and scuff it up. Then I drizzle the alcohol again. It normally cures the problem for as much as 6 months compared to Physan 20 or other chemicals I also try in between. On plants, I usually don't use the straight alcohol. It really sucks out moisture and causes some drying problems with roots.
