Katie,
Trim off the dead (mushy) roots and dead growths, repot in fresh mix, get back on schedule and you should be OK.

It is hard to tell from the photos how many of the roots are still viable. Soaking rotten rotten roots would not serve any purpose. I have not been a great fan of rooting hormone on orchids but a short soak, if it makes the owner feel better would not hurt.
Orchids are extremely resilient if they have viable growths or eyes and usually will recover from severe stress when cleaned up, placed in fresh mix, humidity is elevated and they are placed back on a regular watering and fertilizing schedule.

>I agree , & apologise , I meant & should have written that I would soak in roooting hormone after having cut off and (put cinnamon etc ) on 'cut bits'. the only reason I omitted photo n° 2 is because it has loads of new roots,(so to my eyes does not need soaking in rooting hormone) and just needs the 'dry' growths cutting off ...& possibly repotting, depending on the 'state' of the growing medium - broken down or not ? ....from what one can see from the photos...As mentioned earlier... just my 2 cents worth.

Katie what kind of Phrag do you have? Some can literally sit in a bowl of water all the time and do very well. Generally any cross that has longifolium in it's background will like constantly wet feet. I see a bit of new fan poking out from the ashes so all is not lost. It will be a long recovery though. I'd repot into a fine bark or CHC mix and keep it very moist. There are other species that like to be wet also, but I can't remember which ones they are. Maybe someone else will jump in.

I would also suggest cutting back on the light for a while to let the plants develop some stronger roots.
