Sphag in bag cattleya Female
Default Sphag in bag cattleya

I have this cattleya with no roots. I put it in a zip lock bag with damp sphag moss about ten days ago. It now had five new roots. the longest is about 1.5cms. How long should they be before I pot it? And can someone advise me on how to go about it please?

I think that the 4 inches applies to keikis, not full grown plants. In this case I would think the amount of roots necessary would depend on the amount of foliage/size of plant, so I would be tempted to say that yours needs a tad more growth. But I'm not sure about that. Do you have a picture of your catt with its new roots?
