Fungus spots on orchids?

ALSO: I am currently spraying for spidermites (these plants don't have them, but I am spraying my entire collection to get rid of them), so I would like to know if it is safe to spray with safer's defender (a sulfur based product) if I am also spraying with an insecticidal soap.

So I asked a question a while back regarding spots on my odontocidium, and was told that it was probably fungus. however, since then, the same sort of symptomes have been happening to both my sharry baby and Oncidium Twinkle. They are brown, not crusty brown, but looks almost like rot, only it appears in the form of small blotches on the leaves. They appear at random on the plant, slowly increasing in number. I have not had a problem like this for the five years that I have had orchids, so I do not think it is the regular fungus from occasional evening waterings n such...

Could it be from:
- spidermites ( I am currently spraying the plants for spidermites as well), could these pets be letting in bacteria as they suck the sap
- or the fan that I use on the orchids. The fan I use is not strong, but it is kinda blowing on the plants to increase the drying speed of the medium

Wow, sounds bad. Could you please post some pictures?

It sounds very much like a fungal infection, once a plant becomes infected and is not immediately isolated from others it can spread spores to near by plants and cause the problem to spread through an entire collection. you should treat all of your plants, especially oncidiums and relatives, with a broad spectrum fungicide for a few weeks and see if the condition continues to spread or if it completely halts. If it continues you may have a more serious problem.

It looks like fungal to me too. I would spray them down, not just the leaves but the whole plant to keep it from spreading to the other areas of the orchids.
Sulpher works real well for me.

I've notice this summer has been either cool and wet or wet again, warm & wet. It's frustrating! So I'm seeing my share of these spots also. Normally I don't get these much. But this summer has been different.

I had the same problem couple weeks ago with some cath.
Those guys here give me very good advice.

If it is fungus, those black spot will grow pretty fast.I put liquid paper to just cover the black spot and check next day if you see any black around it.
