Default The rest of my Orchids

Alright, these pictures should show you what kind of beginner I am. I have already posted photos of one of my Phals
I have decided to repot this one right away. I have some orchid mix soaking in a bucket, and will repot it tomorrow.

I have three more, all with their own issues. This one seems to me to be in too small of a pot. It looks as if the roots are really crammed in there. This is the original pot it came in a couple years ago when we got it. I think I'll leave it alone until the last bloom falls off, then I'll repot it in a bigger pot. Is that a good idea? BTW, the sticker on the pot says: 'Phalaenopsis 2 Triebe' Mean anything?

The next one is some mystery Phalaenopsis Hybrid. It has had a keiki on it for some time. The leaves on the mother plant appear a bit stressed, so I will remove the keiki, plant it, and repot the mother plant. The big brown stripes in the leaves, I am embarrassed to say, are from the window closing while the leaves were in the way. Darn wind! Anyway, the keiki has still bloomed since then. The long root tendril on the keiki appears to be dried and brittle. Is it dead? Should I cut that off too?

The last of my chids is this NOID. I haven't a clue what it is. We bought it because it had such exotic looking beautiful flowers, but a week after we got it home they fell off never to have bloomed again (a couple years ago). Anyway, it seems happy enough on my windowsill. It is growing like crazy. Will it ever bloom? Should I repot it with the same soil and techniques I am using on the phalaenopsis'?

Thanks for all of your help. This community is the best I have seen on any forum I've been on.

the last one you should use the same soil but less water and much more light. it is a dendrobium

I agree, you should repot the dendrobium because the roots show sign of damage from salt build up in the old bark. Let dry between water instead of being moist all the time like the Phalaenopsis. In fact repot the Den now while it's growing new roots. Way more light than Phalaenopsis needed. Btw, the root on the keiki is long enough to support itself (probably a bit too long).

Thanks, Guys!

I have everything ready for a good re-potting session tonight.

Now, if I can only figure out how to get that mix out of the water without making a disaster in the bathroom!

All right, done!

That was interesting. I wouldn't have had any idea what to do without the OB. Thanks.

One of the phals had really, REALLY bad roots. I wonder if it will even live. I guess it has time to rest up and grow some more. Cross your fingers!
