What is this? I just noticed this a few mins ago, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there when I was watering my other plants this morning. It was sitting in the sun, but it doesn't really look like a sun burn. What could it be???
Des, I looked under the leaves and I didn't see anything. I did however notice that one of my other plants has similar things on it. They've been there longer, but since they didn't look to be getting worse I didn't think it was anything serious. I believe they were there when I bought them. Here's a picture of the other plant.
i've been looking at it closer, on the phal, and it appears like whatever this thing is, it's coming from the inside of the leaf. it's looks and feels like they are bubbles or something, that then turn into the burned looking things. when i was looking closer at the phal, i could see that there are all types of little bubbles and burn marks all over it.
When you first come in from out of the sun, it takes a while to feel the effects of 'too much.'
While I'm not willing yet to bet the farm that it's a sunburn, it sure looks like it to me. It takes less than half hour for a Phal to burn in too much light. Your plant can recover but will show sun damage...not a big deal.
Hmmm I think the plants look normal. It might be some mechanical damage from moving the plant too much or something. It happen a lot with my thin-leaf oncidium. Should not worry. Do not get water on leaf though. No sign of sunburn that I see, your leaf color look normal.
