Dends are tempermental, they loose a few leaves from the bottom up periodically, which is the norm. If you have a larger area of leaf loss than its important to see if the cause could be pest related. Dends. will loose lower leaves and leave a long stalk so to speak as they go into adulthood, new shoots should appear around the bottom areas of the plant.

Do you have any 's of your dend, it would be of help, also go to the thread "baffled" under dend and see if yours looks like Sue's.

This has been asked here a lot. Basically there are two types of denrobiums (well Tony would say only one type - evil) there are deciduous ones which have larger pseudobulbs (usually) and need to be dormant for part of the year (little water). Then there are the evergreen types which generally don't have a rest period. You need to research yours on web to see what type it is or post a picture.

All of our Dens seem to lose some leaves over the winter. The deciduous ones lose all of them so I wouldn't worry too much about losing some leaves. In the spring, new growths should come and/or new leaves should grow. If you can't see any significant problems now, I think that will be your indicator.
