Odd question about pots
I work at home depot and we have a descent selection of orchids that come and go. Mostly Phals and Den. phals. We carry the standard slotted orchid pots for 1.97 as does Lowe's. Their selection of plants and suppies puts us to shame. I am trying to find the orchid pots you see in the pictures in the books. The ones that are a terra cotta, a little shorter and have slits or slots that go almost to the top of the pot. Or at least a lot bigger than the old stand by pots you see everywhere. Anyone know where such pots exist or what they may be called so I can do a proper search?

That's a good question because the only thing close to my house is a Home Depot

online or in a store it doesn't matter. I live in Charlotte NC. We get ours (home depot) from pennington which is one of our seed vendors. We have 2 sizes, shot glass and regular. All of my orchids except the vandas are in the home depot ones.
Have you guys seen these ones's i'm thinking of? A little shorter with taller slits?

Hey, I lived most of my life in Charlotte!
I can't specifically think of a HD in Charlotte where I've gotten the sort of pot you're after. You might try getting in touch with Larry Mellichamp, the botanist who runs the greenhouse at UNC-Charlotte. He's an exceedingly nice, and very helpful, man.

They are called bulb pans or bulb pots. When I get to work I'll check to see if we have them.
