Will root grow from a broken plant? Currently, I soaked it in a bottle of water. Or shall I put it in a pot with moist pieces of bricks and charcoal?

There are root hormone chemicals that people use sometimes to promote healthy root growth...Dyna-Gro 'K-L-N' and SuperThrive you could try one of these. are there any roots at the base of the dendrobium cane?

i don't think you'll get new roots, but the cane can produce keiki's for you. I put my broken/old canes in a bottle and they do the rest all by themselves.

I generally put them in a damp moist area and they keiki just great. But roots...I really don't think so. I could be wrong though.
