Wish the scale was angled from left to right instead of u & d
Beautiful flowers, folks! I'm envious. So far I've lost all mine's flowers,& have new growth, but no new flowers, yet. Hopeing their will be some day.!
As long as I remember not to water them, too much. I have 2 raison Faced ones, & only had 1 flower each, while in the stores...Any feedback would be appreciated..I'm using vf11 @ 1/2 strength, in Calif. Penninsula, by S.F. indoors. Thanks!

Anita - it would be great if you could create a thread in the Introduction forum - Break the Ice so we can all welcome you .. and you can direct your questions by posting in the appropriate forum - Beginner's Discussion is a great place to start .. you will get more responses and greater exposure than you will here
If you need help with the forum .. contact me by clicking on my name - finding Contact Info and send me an email or PM with your questions

Rookies! Sorry abt. that! At least pat of it was in the right place re: the status contest chart's being easier to read from left to right as apposed to up & down.
I think I did post when I first joined,in the right spot.
Thanks!

I have 2 Rasin Faced orchids, that had a single flower when I bght them,& now nothing. I'm using 1/2 strength of VF-11 & am trying not to over water,as I've killed another species before! These were a bit pricier than what I spent before, & just hope, I can keep them alive.
I've heard to cut off the stems after flowers die, & then heard to cut 1/2 way...or not at all.For all orchids.
any info. I can read,re: the Rasin faced? I went & googled & found not much! Thanks!

Raisin Face may hybrid name. The genus would help identify cultural requirements. A picture would help ID the genus. I've heard of some Paph hybrids with "raisin" in the name. Could be a Paph or "Lady Slipper"

Some orchids will rebloom on old spikes. I don't think Paphs will. Most will bloom during their normal season, then go through different growth cycles, so you'll need to wait a year for more blooms.
If your goal is to make it healthy and happy, cut the bloom spike. Just cut it as low as is convenient. Flowering saps energy from a plant. Cutting it will let it rest.
