Pat, Hwr. Lava Burst has teeny little bulbs. Looks kind of like a mini Onc. I don't think that is what this is. I'd guess Tolu. also.

As Ray states, most commonly available are Tolumnias, esp. hybrids.

Ah, no... I was saying that an uncommon genus such as Rodriguezia or even Leochilus are in common hybrids offered at dept. stores... I do agree that the unknown plant is a Tolumnia hybrid of some sort.

Yes, Pat, thanks for the reminder. I did forget that Howeara has Rodriguezia in its blood! I meant to say 'straight' Rodriguezia species hybrids at Lowes
