Default Is Orchidee a type of Orchid?

In the garden center today they had lots of Phals, a couple of Dendrobium and then several labled up as Orchidee.

Is this another name for some other type of orchid, or does it just mean Orchid in another language, or what?

I can't find any reference to it on this forum and I'm a bit confused.

Ok, so not only were their Phals and Dendrobium of the 'NOID' type, but they had these others which were just labled as effectively 'Orchid'!

They could have been anything becuase I only really know what Phals look like and they weren't that

I had a suspicion after I got home and searched google and this forum that it would turn out to just mean Orchid... I just couldn't belive they would be labeled THAT vaugly

Personally, I prefer 'orchidee' to a mislabeled orchid...which can be intensely more aggrivating.

This is not a joke.

Orchidée or orchid comme from a Grec word :" Orchis"

witch mean "testicular" related to the bulbs they found on some of the first orchid.
