Im 1500 or so feet above sea level but am located in a huge valley that channels heat so even the breeze is hot and very dry. and smoggy.

I'm not sure if I'm correct on this but I've seen photos of dendrobium speciosum gorwing in full sun.

Very likely, I believe its an Australian speciesso can take more heat and light than most orchids.
