Where is OrchidGeeks.com?
Question Where is OrchidGeeks.com?

I hope it's alright to mention another orchid forum, if not I apologize.

Does anyone know what happened to OrchidGeeks.com? I was posting to that forum as well, but haven't been able to access the site for awhile now. I just keep getting an error page.

Hi Shelley, I joined here in an effort to get my orchid fix. I am beginning to despair that it is gone for good. I had not mentioned anything here as I did not know if that was okay or not. I have been in contact with other members and admin, but no one knows a thing. Hope it was okay to talk about it here. Oh, I go by brookn there, Mirranova is my dogs name hee hee.

Hi Brooke,
Good to see you here. I hope you will continue to visit as you have some beautiful species phals and we would all love to see them!

I believe that forum you mention will be up and running again in a couple of weeks. The owner is away visiting his Mom who has terminal cancer and the person left in charge doesn't seem to be able to fix the problems.

I think that the server that forum uses has also been having trouble as the owner of Orchidgeeks has mentioned a move soon.

Hope this helps, meanwhile, stay around here, we're a friendly bunch and love to have a little fun with our posts and our "projects".

Al

We have no problem with other forums being mentioned here...we know we're not the only one around...but we know we are the best!

There is so much to learn about growing orchids...to confine yourself to just one source of information would be limiting your sources. The atmosphere here is somewhat different than other forums I've checked into. There's no bickering and flaming here...that's not how friends treat each other.

Hi Brooke & Shelley . Don't know what's up with that website as I have noticed the userpc thing messed up for a while now. Then suddenly, no website at all. I thought I read something about them updating the server earlier but not sure. Oh well, the neofinetia growers group was fun, while we had it.

Like Sue said, talking about other forums is fine. AT one time we even attempted to collaborate with all other forums and make one large global community that talks to each other. Didn't go over too well and freaked out the other admins into thinking that it was some type of a trick on my part - whatever! Our members are free to come and go as they please and talk about anything they want without the fear of being threatened and having their posts deleted. Stay for a bit whille OG is down, then feel free to go back or be a visitor to both. We're easy to get along with and this is the furthest place from 'scary'. If you do get the perception of 'scary' be sure to let me know.
