Where is OrchidGeeks.com?

Anyone heard any reason why Orchidgeeks has been down for the last couple days? The site has been MIA since Friday.

Welcome and trust me everyone is very laid back and nice here. I don't know what I would have done with out this board....o wait yes I do I would have given up on growing orchids...

Agree. They should all come here.

No more policing, what you can or cannot discuss or even mention, or God forbid - disagree about with the mods.

The rules are the rules...and each forum has it's own set of rules. LIke it or not...when we play in someone else's sandbox...we play by their rules.

BTW -- In case you didn't know...the Mods don't make up the rules...but they are expected to uphold them.

Honestly folks - no need to jab at other boards/communities. I have learned a lot on the OG board - hope that happens here as well.

Having said that, I'd like to extend my warmest welcome to everyone on this thread who's new.

I've had minor disagreements with the mods on OG, but they have all been civil. Early on in my membership, some misunderstandings about what was within the rules - but no worries! Got it sorted out.

BTW, there have been disagreements about how to care for this or that plant, etc., no OG moderator has ever given me a hard time about not agreeing with them.

If someone takes the trouble to make a "sandbox" to play in, the least I can do is not throw sand.

Yeah, right, rub it on, Dennis. Every time you write a supportive comment, in favour of ... we know who... you get a free plant as a nice gesture. It pays off to be friends and support the "right" people.

If mods there would be so civil, half of the OG wouldn't be here after a nasty management treatment, their posts deleted, them being banned to discuss the issue publicly, etc, etc.

Everywhere, there are rules, spoken and non-spoken. Sometimes rules are implemented to prevent problems that have occurred previously or due to fears of legal issues, offending other cultures, or simply to ensure that everyone plays nice (or to prevent spam....). Unless the rules are terribly oppressive, I respect them. If one travels overseas, one finds different rules, spoken and unspoken. I remember being taken aside by those who had visited this country and told what not to do while in those countries. I accepted the advice (and corrections to my use of their languages). Why not? If we are polite and open-minded, we have the opportunity to learn. The same is true for online communities.
