You mean with no water at all? does it include no water in the reservoir?
I´m currently doing something similar to sphag and bag, just instead of a bag it is a plastic "glass", upside down over the plant with holes on top for ventilation. I keep this on during the day because the humidity here is veeeery low and the upper balls of LECA dry up really quick. I hope it´s not the cause of the problems.
I use coconut peat for my snakes and it does retain a lot of water....plus i have a tendency for overwatering everything.
I´ll buy the coco chips tomorrow, prepare them as you said and give them a try.
thanks once again for bearing with me.

No problem Azhael, and yes I mean no water even in the reservoir, you want to put it in a warm shady place.

If you are already doing that with the glass, why dont you give it a bit of time, with no water, and see how it responds.

I water is your problem, then going from LECA to CHC may not be the best way to go just yet.

Here in the OB are always happy to help so don't mention it

I just emptied the reservoir. I´ll give the sphag and bag with LECA (with the new drier conditions)another chance and see what happens. I´ll buy the coconut chips too just in case.
One final question, should i leave the holes open, or should i close them since now the source of humidity is limited?

Right now there are the two holes on the pot´s reservoir(the pot is actually the same kind of plastic "glass" as the cover), and only one left open on top of the cover.
Should i mist if i see the leca or roots get completely dry? or should i fight the urge and let it be as it is...?

i would put it all in a clear plastic bag (ziplock works best) and not disturb it.

Mist if there is absolutely no signs of humidity in the bag and stop once it stays humid, check on it once a week to exchange the air and make sure there's no fungus.

best of luck

Upon inspection of the roots i found most of them had started to rot....
I followed your advice and put it in a ziplock bag. I trimmed the dead roots, treated for fungus and placed in the bag, this time with no media.
Several hours later the bag is full of condensation and the plant has fungus again....¬¬
I´ll treat it again. Should i remove the moist moss?

Yes, remove the moss, it is not recommended to bag it if you haven't controlled the fungus issue, if it came back in a matter of hours, the odds are against you, I am sorry.

Nonetheless

What are you using to treat the roots? I would try hydrogen peroxide if you can get it. I think it is a bit less harsh and less drying then alcohol. IF you can get something like Physan that would probably be even better. However, if you decide to treat the roots again, leave the plant out of any medium until the plant and roots completely dry... I know this is hard, but if the plant has it in him to live a couple hours w/out water will be just fine. If it were me, I would treat again and allow to dry completely again. Then I would repot in something that dries faster. If you are leary of repotting and want to watch the roots, then I would just leave it bare root for now over a shallow dish with a little water in it, but do not allow the roots to touch the water. I would just give it a quick dip in the morning if it apprears that the mold is not returning and let it get a little light and leave it over the dish for a week or so. If the mold appears again, I would repeat the process of treating and letting it dry out all the way before attempting to water or anything again. Den. keikis are usually pretty hardy. I have ones that have come off the parent plant that do not get water on a daily basis and get dried out for couple days sometimes and are just fine. I would err on the side of less water then more. Good luck!

Question

[QUOTE=Azhael;137473]

We don´t get the brown Listerine brand, and i read the other types are not to be used./QUOTE]

I would like to ask about the use of the brown Listerine..I picked up a marked down Den at HD about a month ago. I remember reading here on the OB that using the brown Listerine to cleanse the roots was a good thing to do, but not to use the other kinds...When I brought this Den home it had 2 leaves with a few black spots on them and it was growing in some corking looking mess..it was a challenge to me, a newbie. When I was finally able to free it of the medium it was growing in, I decided to use some Listerine, but only had the citrus kind...so I took a clear plastic deli container, the large size and put in tepid water along with some of the Listerine..a weak solution. I soaked the roots in the solution for about 20 min. then rinsed it very thoroughly..Long story short (er), it is so far doing well, growing new leaves and healthier looking roots..So I wondered if the fact that my Listerine solution was very weak nullified the fact that it was citrus flavor, or does it make a difference? Thanks for your response..Eileen (I've been reading this thread holding my breathe for the poor baby)
