Default New canes on Dend.?

I bought a Dend. Noid "Emma Gold" a few weeks ago, and repotted it into S/H soon after. It lost a few leafs after the repot, but seems to be thriving well now.
Its grown some new roots, and a few days ago i spotted some growth at the bottom of two of the old canes.
Im not familier with Dends. and im wondering if this new growth is new canes? Is this how they are supposed to show up?

Ive marked the new growth, and thoug it still be a little early, maybe someone can tell me what this is?

Yay!
I was soo afraid that i would harm this thing since i dont know anything about Dends.
What about watering now when this canes are growing... Should i be carefull not to get any water on them, like other new growth doesnt like that? Just water from below, and fill up the reservoir instead of flush? Does the Dends. dislike beeing misted? I have been carefull about that since i didnt know...

Yay again!
