Bulbophyllum Sumatrana X Bulb. Dearei care

Two weeks ago I found scale on my one and only bulbo. I soaked with gardening soap, let dry, and attacked with a q-tip with alcohol. I remembered reading about the rapid cooling of alcohol, but I didn't know that you were supposed to rinse off the plant so it suffered a few yellow leaves which I have cut off. In another thread regarding sumatera, someone advised me that a bulbo loves water. however, since i misted yesterday, two bulbs have since rotted. Upon searching for more information, I found a website that recommended that dearei be in very low temps. Any advice to watering or temps for this bulb? thanks in advance.
