Well I am going on vacation in two weeks for about 9 days. I have made arrangements to take about 20 of my 'chids, mostly all the mounted one's to an orchid sitter...she has a greenhouse so I am assuming all should be ok and it really isn't that expensive...about .06 cents per orchid per day....definitely worth the piece of mind rather then trying to train a friend to water and hope they will get over early enough in the day....which isn't too reliable...lol. Anyways....what I need advice on is....what should I do to prepare for this? How should I make them identifiable as mine....should I try and mark/code them so she will know what needs high light, low light...etc.? I am a little worried and will probably be in a hurry when I am dropping them off...I guess I just don't know what to expect....all she told me was the price and to call her early in the the week I would be dropping them off (on a Thursday). Not all have tags some do and some don't...I just know what is what since I baby them everyday! Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
My advice to you is to ask wether or not she has experience with chids. Im assuming you already did that. If she does then dont sweat it and enjoy your vacation. But i would put some colored twist ties onto the mounts so that way there will be no mix up as to what plants are yours or not.
Yes she does have experience with orchids, she sells orchids at our local show and she sells supplies as well. I will be sure to take pictures of them all....that is a great idea...and get a set of colored magic markers too! Thanks guys! Any other suggestions are still welcome!
