I'd have to say Laelia tenebrosa, although I've never seen one in person. I have a baby one with two new growths that should help me make my mind up next spring.

Catasetum pileatum... no discussion about that :D

but of course, there is then a list plants I really like and compete for the second place: Cattleya violacea, Neofinetia falcata, Cypripedium calceolus, Pleione formosana, rupiculous Laelias, different Cycnoches, and almost all sort of minis...

David your orchids are beautiful...I especially love the HD Den rescue..I recently purchased a HD Den rescue, the tag says Den C.M. ??? I have no idea what it WILL look like in bloom, but she is presently recuperating from neglect!..Your pic gives me very much hope!..thank you Eileen

I would never part with my Neofinetias.. so I guess that would make them my favorite orchid (family).. :evil:
