Default new orchids- now what?

i just received my new orchids tha ti bought off ebay from nia's orchids. i purchased a Blc. Keowee 'Newberry' , Blc. Lady's Favorite 'Morning Mist' , and a Mtssa. Estrelita Sweet Senorita . they all appear in good shape and came in 2.5" pots. the 2 cattleya have new growths and everybody has nice roots.
but now what??
they came with the culture dry... should i water first or should i fertilize right away? does it even matter? am i overthinking this?

Many on here recommend repotting as soon as they come to you. Some swish the roots with Listerine as a precautionary measure. I am one of those who do that.
If mine comes in really dry, I always give it a nice soak of water. I don't fertilize right off as I don't know when they were done last and it's better not to overdo. Start to give them morning light until they are adjusted, then gradually increase the light. All of yours are a high light orchid. Good luck and happy growing!

The regular listerine, yes, not the mint. It's more of an amber color, I think. It's good to help prevent any bacterial problems.
Sue here on the OB gave us that little tip. It's nice to have experienced orchid growers to help us along the way, huh? I have learned so much here. Now enjoy your newbies!

I would recommend to water as well! I love Nia's Orchids. I have purchased from her and have had nothing but top notch service and healthy orchids!

I'll second Nia's plants and add she has a great sense of humor. That's a story I won't go into but if she happens to see this............HI!!

Here are of my new Mini Mark 'Holm'

I realized the blooms give off a really sweet floral scent. I love that it's so compact. I'll definitely be buying more in the future!!
