Thank you Bird Song, for the "mitten" description...that means the 1 inch growth that WAS coming from my naked phal spike was a new spike...it looked like a mitten!!! But, no matter, it got 'knocked' off..by accident, while tending to other plants around it!...At least now I know for sure! and what to expect in the future!..Eileen

LOL Peter
Al, OK ... Dr. asked me about the nubby on the left, I said it's a spike. Then you quoted me on the answer, then I replied there are both spikes already bloomed.

Are we good now?

We're always good Gloria. It doesn't take much for me to become totally lost and if there is something I can scr** up you can bet I'll do it.

Peter.....naw, not behind your back, we'll keep it right out in the open! Besides, nubbins are all Dorothy's fault.

peggypugsmom...Darn, don't ya just hate it when that happens!!! Usually a new spike breaks through soon after one is broken off....let's hope that happens! Glad the mitten description helped, that is the way it was described to me and I thought it was very appropriate 'cause it really does look like a tiny mitten!

Hi guy's,
Been a while since I've been here.

This Phal and another are RIP.

This one was doing fine, then I think I started to read to much, should've left it alone but changed the bark, then it went south and didn't stop.

There was another Phal that did have a spike, but it had ariel roots. Nothing happening below. I tried but it gave up as well.

That's an update. I have a another ? but will ask on another thread.
