Question Masdevallia: pot, or mount?

Question for those of you with Masdie experience: just got a Masdevallia floribunda. It looks like it's been newly mounted, via a quite ugly method: burlap wrapped around a hacked-off chunk of PVC pipe. Since it hasn't grown into the burlap yet, I was going to pot it in sphagnum/seedling mix. However... now I'm thinking it might do better re-mounted on cork? Anyone have thoughts as to whether this little guy would do better on a mount, vs. in a pot?

I only have a few Masdies...some are mounted and some are potted. They all seem to be doing about the same so I guess it's a matter of whether you will be able to mist the root zone every day on a mount
